Riding Lights
Since the launch of Riding Lights Theatre Company in 1977 we’ve designed publicity for over 20 of their shows. For ‘The Winter’s Tale’, Shakespeare’s study of paranoia, power and jealousy gets the heavy-handed, comic-book treatment.
Riding Lights
Other examples of our Riding Lights designs. Despite the venue’s branding constraints, this poster for ‘The Fire Raisers’ is one of our favourite designs. The interior of the cuckoo clock was developed in collaboration with York-based illustrator Johnny Smyth.
School prospectus
Two prospectus booklets for Allerton Grange School. A simple layout for the general school prospectus, and more colour and lively shapes for the document aimed at post-16 students.
School prospectus
A clear colour scheme and an edgy layout separated the different sections of subject information, with an occasional photo for a more personal feel.
School prospectus
The general prospectus had to be clean and simple, but we introduced bursts of colour using pieces of students’ artwork. (The school is aiming to get specialist arts college status.)
Professional development
An A4 brochure promoting learning days and development resources in psychotherapy and counselling at the Tuke Centre.
Support the Tobin tax
These people have a cunning plan to boost overseas aid with a tax on currency trading. The mind-blowing statistics were an obvious starting point for a poster image.
When the Tobin Tax Network decided to rebrand as the Stamp Out Poverty campaign, we stepped in to design their logo.
FCC membership form
Leaflet with cut-off slip, for Friends of the Church in China. Although we used the lovely Chinese papercut imagery that forms part of our branding for the organisation, we kept the form clear and direct for easy completion.
Biofuels and road vehicles
A full-colour booklet for the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, promoting the use of biofuels. The brief was to look attractive, accessible and not out of place in a car showroom.
New beginnings
An appeal leaflet highlighting the relaunch of St George’s Crypt, the well-known homeless shelter and support charity in Leeds city centre.
New beginnings
The inside of the leaflet continues the circular design motif, giving a feel of integration and connectivity between the various aspects of work at the shelter.
Moving Day
When structural engineers Michael Heal Associates relocated from Leeds city centre to Headingley, they wanted a distinctive way of announcing the move, and gave Wingfinger free rein.
Your ALMO is changing
A postcard for Leeds City Council housing department, designed within the constraints of their corporate branding. Wingfinger also arranged print and mailing to 59,000 addresses.
Stop Climate Chaos
This was how Wingfinger promoted the launch event of the Leeds Stop Climate Chaos campaign. A classic (if tongue in cheek) example of ‘climate porn’. We also designed their website and online carbon calculator.
Climate change day of prayer
A bold, eye-catching poster for the 2009 Climate Change Day of Prayer (with white space for easy overprinting of local details).
Faith in work
This leaflet advertised a conference to discuss what it’s like being a Christian in the workplace. Aimed at young people aged 15 and 16, the event was fully booked.
Proclaim Jubilee posters
A set of posters for Jubilee 2000 debt campaign, based on photographs supplied by the client. This one gets the duotone treatment, adding subtle colour to a greyscale image.
Proclaim Jubilee posters
Another poster in the set, this time using a full-colour image. Although Jubilee 2000 was disbanded at the end of 2000, we have done design work for the coalition that succeeded it, Jubilee Debt Campaign, including this report.
Proclaim Jubilee posters
And another full-colour image. Have a closer look at the logo we designed for the campaign in our identity gallery.
