African forests

We enjoy a good tree-related job here at Wingfinger, and this logo design was for an organisation involved with African forestry communities. Initial braingstorming for branding jobs inevitably produces lots of nice little motifs that do not make it through to development (you can find out more about our logo design process in the case study on our main site). Here are some from the forestry job that we think deserve a second viewing.

Historic website

We were asked to do a front redesign for a site focused on egyptian archaeology that incorporated a large archive of photos and historical material. Of course we got very excited. Here are a few favourite early suggestions that didn’t make the final cut.

Ark job

Although our Wingfinger motto for logo design is ‘keep it simple’, we gave the client’s initial brief for this job a go. Trying to get a dog, camel, goat, pig, bird and human all into one logo was a lot of (messy) fun. Below are a few variations on the medical/menagerie theme that were discarded early on. The left image explores some alternative (minimalist and cow-based) approaches.

The final logo can be viewed in our identity gallery.
